ThinkChina Topic Group on Politics

The ThinkChina Topic Group on Politics aims to provide a strong platform for analysing China’s political, economic and security challenges as a rising power and how the Chinese leaders’ response to these challenges affect Chinese domestic politics as well as regional and international politics.

‘Politics’ is approached in the broadest sense and hence the working group covers topics such as China’s political economy, domestic politics and general societal development. As well as China’s foreign and security policy in an international system influenced by China’s new priorities.

The topic group comprises a wide range of stakeholders and organises a series of different activities at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), e.g. public ChinaTalks with international China experts and by-invitation-only roundtable discussions with partners in the public and private sector.  Members of the topic group also disseminate knowledge about China through scientific papers, policy briefs, blogs as well as in the media.
