ThinkChina Topic Group on Green Growth

ThinkChina is a member of the ‘Danish Chinese Urban & Regional Cooperation’-network. The network comprises Danish authorities at national, regional and city level that have strategic or sister city relations with Chinese partners. The aim is to debate opportunities and challenges and share best practice cases. ThinkChina organizes courses and workshops within the network.

China’s renewable energy sector is becoming a global game changer and it is important for Denmark. Sino-Danish commercial and public collaboration has a long history and in recent years the Danish government has strengthened its collaboration with China. It has engaged in setting up the China National Renewable Energy Centre, a new policy research think tank for renewable energy under the National development and Reform Commission.

The Danish Energy Agency collaborates with CNREC on a number of issues, e.g. roadmaps for renewable energy sources, integration of wind energy into the Chinese energy system, R&D collaborative under the CNREC/renewable energy platform with national Energy Administration, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

The ThinkChina Topic Group on Green Growth follow this development and is concerned with exploring new avenues for Sino-Danish collaboration in this important field.

The topic group organises ad hoc activities. For more information please contact Jørgen Delman.

Chair and contact person: Professor Jørgen Delman, Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies, University of Copenhagen.
